If you look into my soul,
will you somehow see
that you and me,
are meant to be?

221B Baker Street, London

In the bus on the way back to Victoria from the SFC CCW retreat. I was sitting at the very back minding my own business when suddenly my sister - who was sitting at the front of the bus - shouted and told me to look outside. Upon looking out and realizing where we are, I hastily shot a few pictures and smiled at my sister in thanks - she obviously knew me well.

Life after exams

As we savour our freedom and cheer for surviving the great battle of exams, we graduates are now looking forward to the day when we would walk down that aisle, go up the stage, shake hands with our honourable chancellor - like he's our king - receive the golden paper of our degree and finally say goodbye to that chapter of our life.

And during this time, between partying and having fun, we get to hear many questions about our future that we simply don't want to think about.

"What are your plans after graduation?"
"What are you going to do afterwards?"
"Work? Further studies? Vacation?"

If I get a penny every time people ask me these questions I probably would've been rich by now. People seem to enjoy asking these to us and while some has a concrete idea of what they would like to do after we graduate, most of us squirm and give vague answers that will satisfy our listener but are not entirely sure of. We give the most logical answer in our head swarmed by worry, uncertainties, anxiousness, fear and confusion but if we are being totally honest, we have no idea what we want to do and how we are going to do what we want to do (if there is one).

Though we laugh, we play around and say that everything is all right - at the end of the day, we lie down on our beds stare unseeingly at our ceilings  and look for answers to all of our questions while trying to calm the raging storm of worry in our heads.

Late night scribbles

Tonight I have a companion,
a Night Owl like myself.
We gaze at the noisy city,
a spark of irritation in our eyes.
When would silence embrace them
and sleep close their eyes?
When would she cast her spell on us and send us to a dreamless night?
